Troops of the 542 Brigade Headquarters under 54 Division in Mannar marked the historic importance of Poson Full Moon Poya Day (June 4) with several programmes.
The day began with a Sil campaign with the participation of all the officers and soldiers serving the 542 Brigade Headquarters.
Towards the end of the day, a rice and curry Dansela (free eating house) at the Brigade Headquarters provided meals to hundreds of Mannar-based civilians who flocked to the town to enjoy the spirits of Poson. People of all ethnicities as dusk fell joined the Dansela and shared the hospitality of the soldiers.
