The routine Wednesday Training Programme was repeated at the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) under the supervision of Major General Dampath Fernando, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu (SF-MLT).
Officers who are serving in Divisions, Forward Maintenance Area, Brigades and Units under the SFHQ-MLT took part in it on Wednesday (15).
Lieutenant Colonel R.A Samaranayake, Commanding Officer, 1 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and officers of 1 SLLI conducted presentations on ‘Present State of Syria and Arab Spring’ to the participant officers during this programme.
Warrant Officer II, P.C.K Hettiarachchi of 6 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) also conducted a lecture on ‘Use of Drugs and Its Effects’ to the other rankers during the same day. The lectures were attended by Brigadier W.A. Ariyarathna, Project Officer at the SFHQ-MLT.
Afterwards, on the directions of the Commander, SF-MLT and with the coordination of Directorate of Movement of the Army, another awareness workshop was organized at the SFHQ-MLT premises on ‘Air Travel Services Pvt Ltd and its projects for the year 2017’ on Thursday (16).
This lecture described the annual plan of the Army Air Travel Services which offer fair discounts on air travels.
The lecture assistance was given by Major B.R Muhandiram and Captain R.M.I.T Rupasinghe of the Directorate of Movement.
More than 100 officers and other rankers attended the awareness workshop.
